Gov. Bradford identified the early settlers of Plymouth by calling the group who came on Mayflower II - Pilgrims, and the people who came early but contributed to the settlements as well, as Patriots.

5. SAMUEL4 FRENCH (STEPHEN3, STEPHEN2, RICHARD1) was born May 05, 1668 in Weymouth, Mass., and died September 23, 1735 in Abington, Massachusetts. He married SILENCE TORREY February 03, 1714/15 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, daughter of MICAJAH TORREY and SUSANNA N.N.. She was born Abt. 1683, and died October 29, 1755 in Danbury, Connecticut.

The original vital statistics of Danbury were burned during the Revolutionary War. Thereafter those families which had preserved their private records turned them in for recording and the present first voume was started. For this reason, the entire family record of Rev. Ebenezer White, including the death of his mother-in-law Silence, is entered as a group on the same page.
